The Chamber would like to invite you on 14 October 10:00 CET to attend our in-person event "EU-UK Cooperation - how do we work together to deliver energy security, affordable energy and emissions reduction?".
The current geopolitical climate has put further emphasis on two important policy targets for European policymakers: energy security and the green transition. Achieving these targets requires the cooperation of all European countries, including UK and EU policymakers. The aim of this event is to discuss the challenges and social costs of the energy crisis alongside the scope for stronger UK-EU cooperation in achieving energy security and a just green transition.
We are delighted to welcome our panelists Joël Reland, Research Associate at UK in a Changing Europe, Elisabetta Cornago, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for European Reform, and Conall Heusaff, Research Assistant at Bruegel, who will be sharing their views on British and European emergency interventions and planned long-term structural reforms to the energy markets, the impact of the energy crisis on the green agenda, and the scope for cooperation in light of divergent energy strategies.
This event will include presentations by all panelists, opened by a message from MEP Seán Kelly (EPP, IE), Vice-Chair of the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session moderated by Matt Hinde, Chair of the UK-EU Relations Committee, where participants will have the opportunity to put their questions to the speakers.
We look forward to welcoming you to such an exciting and topical event!
