Join us at the British Chamber of Commerce for an exciting discussion on the Reflections of G7 – EU, US and UK perspectives with MEP Paul Tang (S&D, NL).

On the 30th and 31st of October the world's major economies will meet at the G20 International Forum, in Rome. The Rome G20 Summit, held under the Italian Presidency, will focus on addressing three main areas: people, planet and prosperity. During this summit, political leaders will discuss how to achieve sustained economic prosperity while at the same time choosing the shift response to the pandemic. Other topics such as reducing inequality and women’s empowerment will also be addressed.

The G20 is expected to bring fruitful discussions regarding international macro-financial issues and regulation as well as socio-economic and development issues. MEP Paul Tang will share the EU, US, and UK’s plans are.

Paul Tang is a Member of the European Parliament for the Partij van de Arbeid (PvdA) since July 2014, as part of the Group of Socialists and Democrats. He received a PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam and worked for the Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs and the Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis before entering the Dutch parliament in 2007. Here, Paul Tang was spokesperson for financial and fiscal affairs from 2007 until 2010, right through the financial crisis. In 2014, Paul Tang led the list of the PvdA for the European elections. In 2019 he was re-elected. Paul Tang mainly works on economic and financial affairs (ECON), with a focus on fair taxation and sustainable finance, and the role of data in our society (LIBE). Since September 2020, Tang is chair of the subcommittee on taxation (FISC).
