In a joint statement with 12 other international business organizations, the British Chamber of Commerce | EU & Belgium brings attention to the unintended consequences of the EU’s Foreign Subsidies Implementing Regulation.
The statement puts forward four recommendations to address the existing gaps and challenges presented by the proposed regulation. These recommendations include the necessity to narrow the scope of reporting obligations, exempting the disclosure of classified information, allowing all relevant parties to supply information directly to the Commission, and the need for clearer definitions.
The joint statement highlights the importance of addressing these issues to ensure that the EU's Foreign Subsidies Implementing Regulation achieves its intended objectives without imposing disproportionate burdens on businesses.
