With shared climate neutrality goals and deep economic integration, closer coordination on carbon pricing is not only feasible, it is increasingly essential. Linking the two ETS schemes would reduce decarbonisation costs and protect consumers from rising prices and trade distortions.
In the face of growing geopolitical and market pressures, this is a clear opportunity for the EU and UK to lead together on climate cooperation - starting with a practical, deliverable step forward.
