CryptoReg: Navigating Digital Asset Regulation and Next Steps

The British Chamber of Commerce | EU & Belgium is pleased to organise a working lunch with guest speakers MEP Assita Kanko (BE), MEP Ondřej Kovařík (CZ), and Mr Mark Foster of the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI). This event will feature a stock-take on the current situation of digital asset regulation in the EU and the UK as well as the next steps of this process. After addresses by each of the speakers, the floor will be opened for a Q&A allowing for a constructive dialogue about this important topic.

MEP Kanko was Rapporteur on the Transfer of Funds Regulation, introducing EU regulations on the transfer and traceability of digital assets. Mr Kovařík was Shadow Rapporteur on the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA), introducing stricter controls and requirements around digital assets, including disclosures, traceability and anti-money laundering procedures. He is also a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.

Mr Foster is the EU Policy Lead at the CCI, a leading alliance of crypto industry leaders with an aim to aid institutions and governments in advancing inclusive regulation of digital assets.
