Europe’s Response to Emerging Diseases - The H5N1 Threat, a Case Study
On the 13th of May the British Chamber of Commerce EU & Belgium and CSL Seqirus will be organising a panel discussion on Europe's response to emerging diseases - The H5N1 threat, a case study.
The discussion will raise awareness of the threat posed by the H5N1 virus. It will assess the EU's response to this challenge so far and its broader implications for the Union's preparedness for health threats. The discussion will also focus on the key elements that should be included in the Commission's 'Preparedness Union' initiative to enhance Europe's capacity to combat infectious diseases. Additionally, it will examine the impact of the US withdrawal from the WHO on global efforts to respond to H5N1 and other infectious diseases.
The discussion will be moderated by Laura Batchelor, Co-Chair of the Chamber's Healthcare Committee, and Managing Partner at FIPRA Public Affairs.
