Pandemic prevention: The future of EU Pandemic Preparedness

Join us for our discussion on ‘The future of EU Pandemic Preparedness'. The event will take place in-person on Thursday 14 March  from 17:00 to 18:30, at the British Chamber of Commerce | EU & Belgium.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the European Union started the building of a European Health Union. Since that, many legislative initiatives have been launched aiming at improving EU response to serious cross-border health threats, extending the mandate of key agencies such as the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)  and The European Medicines Agency (EMA), as well as the creation of the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) to prepare the EU for future pandemics. 

This discussion will explore the risks and opportunities for the EU’s pandemic preparedness agenda, consider the EU Belgian Presidency priorities and the Global Health/ Team Europe agenda, focusing on what it will take to ensure HERA’s success in the new mandate, and the collaborative efforts needed from various industries and stakeholders.

The discussion will be moderated by Laura Batchelor, Managing Partner at FIPRA International, and Co-Chair of the BritCham Healthcare Committee.

A networking reception will follow the panel discussion.
