Regulatory Divergence
Regulatory Divergence
Join us for an in-person panel discussion on EU-UK regulatory divergence, organised in collaboration with the Office of the Northern Ireland Executive in Brussels.
Regulatory divergence is one of the biggest issues facing EU-UK relations since the end of the transition period and continues to have significant implications for many industries. Furthermore, following the introduction of the Windsor framework there has also been a the rise in intra-UK divergence between Great Britain and Northern Ireland, leaving many questions unanswered. The event will consist of two panel discussions, followed by moderated Q&A sessions.
The first panel discussions aims to give an overview of regulatory divergence from both the academic and practical perspectives, addressing questions such as ‘How do the two regulatory regimes diverge?’, ‘How can we quantify the benefits and costs of divergence?’, and ‘How has the UK Government made use of the new flexibilities gained after leaving the EU?’. These questions will be addressed by experts in leading Think tanks such as UK in a changing Europe and EU-UK Forum, as well as members of the Northern Ireland Civil service and UK Mission to the EU.
The second panel will then delve into the industry specific effects of regulatory divergence of different relevant sectors. The perspectives will be provided by leading industry professionals.
The event will then conclude with a networking reception with refreshments. We hope that you are able to join us for this highly informative and dynamic event!
