Shaping the Future of EU Trade: Insights into the Union Customs Code Reform
The Chamber's Trade Policy Committee invites you to a roundtable on the EU Customs Code Reform featuring MEP Dirk Gotink.
The event is set for Wednesday 13th of November, from 16:30 to 18:00 CET.
Join us for an insightful roundtable on the EU’s transformative Customs Reform, which presents a cutting-edge, data-driven approach to simplifying customs processes while ensuring the safety and security of EU citizens and businesses. This reform responds to the growing pressures faced by the EU Customs Union, including the rise of e-commerce, the increasing number of EU standards, and evolving geopolitical realities.
The EU Customs Reform introduces a groundbreaking partnership with businesses via the new EU Customs Data Hub. By harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning, the Data Hub will streamline customs reporting and provide real-time visibility of supply chains. This allows for smarter, more targeted customs checks, ensuring that only goods that pose risks to the EU’s security, environment, and economy are intercepted. The reform will also empower online platforms to manage customs duties, simplifying processes for both businesses and consumers.
Key highlights of the event include:
- Understand the EU Customs Data Hub: A single interface that simplifies customs reporting and introduces the Trust & Check program for trusted traders.
- Explore the new e-commerce framework: Discover how the reform makes online platforms key players in ensuring customs compliance and fair duty collection.
